Joy Akeley began her therapy journey with the in-house Broad River Rehab Therapy Team at Christian Assisted Living of Johnson City to achieve the highest-level quality of life. Mrs. Akeley stated, “I was having trouble walking down to the dining area and standing long enough to brush my teeth and do everything I needed to do at the sink.” 

Through Broad River Rehab's Therapy Team, she is now able to walk with increased independence and distance, able to stand long, which has allowed her to become more independent with her activities of daily living. Mrs. Akeley reports, “the Therapy Team is amazing and are always willing to help. I am now able to enjoy going to more activities that the facility hosts such as devotions, movies, musical guest and working on puzzles which is my favorite hobby.” 

We are excited to continue working with Mrs. Akeley in assisting her to achieve all her desired goals. Thank you for your hard work and dedication!

Michelle has worked at Christian Assisted Living of Johnson City for eight years and in healthcare eight years. She continually shows a “Commitment to Caring” by helping Residents with the small tasks. She likes being there for them as some don’t have family.

She stated that her motivation is to do her job to the best of her ability. She cleans the Residents rooms as she would clean her own home. She also enjoys talking to them like family.

Michelle shared that she likes working at Christian Assisted Living because she enjoys the Residents and her job.

Christian Assisted Living of Johnson City is proud to announce that Amy Walker, CNA was chosen as the recipient of a “Caring Hearts Award” by Alzheimer’s Tennessee.

The Grinch is at it again! Residents are on high alert for the Grinch and to keep him from stealing the Christmas decorations. However, he also brings lots of Holiday cheer to the facility by providing snacks and lots of laughter.

It's a puzzle kind of day. Ms. Ann loves to put puzzles together and this one just brings JOY to the Season!

The "East Tennessee Belles Choir" visited Christian Assisted Living recently and sang the most beautiful Christmas songs! Residents and Staff greatly enjoyed the group and the Christmas Spirit they brought with them.

Christian Assisted Living of Johnson City is excited to welcome Taylor Bewery as the new Director of Marketing.   

Taylor has a lengthy history in activities and marketing for nursing homes, Assisted Living and most recently became a licensed insurance agent.  

He is the father of two young sons, a multi-sport athlete, musician and author. He is super excited to begin this new chapter in his career.  

It was a “spooktacular” good time at CALofJC with Trunk or Treating and lots of food and fun. CALofJC would like to thank the many vendors that helped make this evening special for our residents and community.

My name is David Worley, and I am excited to be the Broad River Rehab's new Clinical Coordinator of Care here at Christian Assisted Living of Johnson City. I started my journey in Therapy with the Christian Care Centers and have served in several of their local facilities. Some might notice me most recently from Abundant Christian Living Community. I am excited to start this new journey here at Christian Assisted Living as I lead the in-house Therapy program.

I attended Walters State Community College where I graduated with an associate of applied science in 2020. I still reside in Greeneville, TN with my wife and now one year old son. In my spare time, I enjoy playing with my son on his toy tractor and taking him for rides on the four-wheeler. As a family, we enjoy going to our home church of Susong Memorial and participating in outreach programs with them such as hayrides, cookouts, Fall Festivals and Vacation Bible Schools.

Once again, I want to say how appreciative and excited I am to be working here at Christian Assisted Living with these amazing patients and staff. I look forward to all the good times that we will share together.
