ETSU Dementia Art Therapy

ETSU students who are part of the Dementia Art Therapy Alliance are spending several Saturday’s a month working with residents of Christian Assisted Living of Johnson City. 

Their mission is to harness the therapeutic potential of art to enhance the lives of individuals affected by dementia and other neurodegenerative diseases. They are dedicated to fostering creativity, connection, and emotional well-being through engaging artistic experiences that promote a sense of joy and mitigate the various symptoms of these conditions. 

By providing a safe and inclusive space, they aim to empower both participants and their caregivers, promoting self-expression and shared understanding. With a strong focus on collaboration, they strive to create a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of those living with dementia and other neurodegenerative diseases. 

Christian Assisted Living of Johnson City is grateful to have been chosen by the group and having a great time sharing their artistic talents.
