national assisted living week 2024

 We kicked off National Assisted Living Week yesterday with a celebration of Grandparent’s Day with homemade pizza, fresh salad, and carrot cake  along with special entertainment by Singing Sabrinia. Some wonderful banana splits were also provided by Neal from Oasis. We are looking forward to seeing what else we can get into this week.

On Tuesday, Christian Assisted Living Celebrated Hillbilly-Bluegrass Day. Entertainment was provided by Country Music Bluegrass Band while residents enjoyed Moon Pies and RC Cola's provided by Gentiva Hospice.

“Dolly Day” was a hit on Wednesday as Christian Assisted Living of Johnson City continued to celebrate National Assisted Living Week. 

The morning started with Bob reading Scripture and remembering the events of 9/11. Lunch was all about Dolly’s favorite foods: chicken and dumplings, okra, peas, cornbread and banana pudding. Dolly Karaoke and watching the movie Coat of Many Colors ended the day.   

Thanks to Broad River Rehabilitation for providing pink lemonade, Strawberry Crush, pink gummie lips and hard candy bananas along with popcorn.

Christian Assisted Living of Johnson City finished up National Assisted Living Week celebrations on Thursday and Friday with Elvis in the building. Residents enjoyed the music, dancing and an overall good time.   

Activities also include a cake walk, a water balloon toss, and root beer floats, provided by Caris Hospice. A Duck Hunt and a special visit from “APPY” the Appalachian Fair Mascot gave everyone a nice surprise.   

Christian Assisted Living cannot say thank you enough to the vendors, friends and family and most importantly the staff and residents for their support during National Assisted Living Week. Thank you all for making this such a special week.
